Yesterday Jack and I walked to Allen's grocery store. We walked past the elementary school just south of us. All the kids were out at recess. It made me smile to see the little kids running around. There were little girls doing cartwheels, boys playing with balls, girls chasing boys. Some girls that probably didn't want to get wet because it was raining were sitting under an awning at some tables talking. Others were playing tag and running around on the equipment. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was one of these kids. I remember playing soccer in the back field, or at least attempting it. I remember climbing a big yellow slide and looking out across the playground. I used to hang upside down on what I believe we referred to as the spider jungle gym. We also would swing around on the monkey bars, balance on the back of the benches or ride the half buried tires. I remember the intense wall ball games, the four square and of course Bump. Shark tag was also a favorite but we just couldn't get caught playing it.
They have since made my elementary school a language school and no longer do children run around on the playgrounds during the day. Elementary school went by so fast. The memories are still new, I can remember parts of kindergarten, my first day in first grade, getting my height and weight measured in fifth grade and reading Where the Red Fern Grows in Mr. Mitchell's class. That book really kinda freaked me out. I wonder what Jack's school will be like. Will he be able to walk to school with his friends? Will he be able to ride his bike? Will he excel in his classes, be a trouble maker or a teachers pet? Will he like sports or music or math? I don't know, but I know I'll love him no matter what.
On another note-I have been trying to get this whole weekly menu down. Since we got married Kyle would ask me what we are having for dinner and I would reply "I don't know." Then I would scramble to make something. I decided I wanted to try and schedule out a week or two of meals because it would make things easier and supposedly it helps lose weight. So far, both are true and I want to thank Tastyplanner.com.

It's awesome! You can upload your own recipes, make them public or private and then put them in a weekly planner. ALSO, it makes up a grocery list (basically it lists all the ingredients for you). Sometimes the stuff is duplicated but it's easy enough to sort it out. AND because it gives you the ingredients you know how much you need. So if I needed to buy some zucchini I would know if I need four zucchinis or one zucchini. It's pretty awesome. Best of all, it's free. I love it and totally think you should try it.

I have also fallen in love with a new blog. It's called "Make It and Love It." There are tons of tutorials on how to make crafts and stuff and how to re-purpose clothing for your kids. SWEET!!! It has inspired me to start sewing more. I have a lot to learn to be good at sewing but I have some time.
That's what's been keeping me busy. ADIOS!!
